Description:

The Work comprises, but is not limited to: mobilization, traffic control, installation of approximately 130 LF of 8-inch PVC DR 14 pipe, and 25 LF of DI CL 53 spools, including gate valves, CLA-VAL electronic flow control valve, fixtures, restrained fittings, thrust blocks, blow offs, and air vac assemblies, electrical and controls, tapping sleeves and necessary appurtenances to complete installation of the metering station.  In addition, the work consists of installation of a reinforced concrete pad and perimeter chain-link fencing and gates, and drainage and pavement improvements per the construction plans and project specifications.

Work shall be completed in compliance with approved Project Design Plans, on file with the City Clerk.

Qualifications:
The Contractor shall possess a valid Class A Contractor's license at the time of submitting bids. The Contractor is required to complete a Bidder's Qualification Form & Contractor's Project Listing (included in Section 1.3 Bid Documents) certifying that they have met the minimum acceptable experience for performing the necessary work. To be qualified , bidder must have the experience, manpower, and equipment necessary and have successfully completed the necessary work with their own workforce, not solely by managing subcontractors, a minimum of three (3) projects of similar-type water projects (with installation of water pipes and appurtenances including setting of tapping sleeves and performance of hot tapping, installation of above ground piping, valves and appurtenances including control valves, and installation of buried and above ground conduit and wiring for electrical power, instrumentation, and control) for government/public agency within the last five (5) years. Failure to meet the minimum qualifications will render a bidder non-responsive.
Special Requirements:
10% Bid Bond, 100% Performance Bond, 100% Payment Bond. It shall be mandatory, upon the contractor to whom the contract is awarded, and upon any subcontractor under him, to pay not less than the prevailing rate of wages as established by the City Council as they apply to the work being performed. Said prevailing rates are available from the State of California Department of Industrial Relations website (*See link under Description).
