APEX Accelerators are an official government contracting resource for small businesses. Find your local APEX Accelerator (opens in new window) for free government expertise related to contract opportunities.
APEX Accelerators are funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the Department of Defense.
The APEX Accelerators program was formerly known as the Procurement Technical Assistance Program (opens in new window) (PTAP).
The Air Force's minimum needs can only be satisfied by the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), Tactical Communications
Group, LLC (TCG), a Curtiss-Wright Company, listed in the market research. From this market research, it is proven that TCG is the
only known sole source that can fulfill this procurement. Due to the nature of this acquisition and the proprietary design of the
SIMPLE Interface for BOSS System, TCG does not have any authorized distributors and is the only source that can
fulfill this award.
The C-130J software integration lab already owns a BOSS system and needs to purchase the additional SIMPLE addon.
The add-on is only available from Curtis-Wright, the owner of the commercial BOSS software. Curtis-Wright does
not allow third party plugin development, thus there are no alternatives for purchasing add-ons. The only possible
alternative would be to replace BOSS with a different vendor's commercial software packages.
