Contractor employee(s) shall be responsible for independently planning, organizing, and performing a wide variety of specialized technical duties in support of the successful completion of goals and deliverables in accordance with all provisions of the Contract.
The Hanford Site has solid bulk sodium stored in drums and tanks. To support the development of processing and disposition options, sampling and analysis of the solid bulk sodium is needed.
Drums (three total) that will be transported by the Buyer to a Contractor facility for sampling were originally received at Hanford in 1975. There are a total of 158 208-Liter (55-gallon) drums (inerted and sealed), each overpacked in a 321-Liter (85-gallon) drum. Each inner drum was originally inerted with a nitrogen blanket prior to sealing and transport to the Hanford Site. The drums are stored within the South Alkali Metal Storage Modules in the Hanford 200 West Area.
