Solicitation Summary
The City of Bowie is soliciting proposals from qualified snowplow contractors to provide snowplowing and ice management services to the City for the upcoming 2025-2026 winter season. Both corporate entities and sole proprietors may apply. A Snowplow Packet may be obtained at no cost from the Public Works Department by submitting a request for the documents via email to Carissa Sullivan at
csullivan@cityofbowie.org
. In your email request, include if you need the corporation or sole proprietor package. This solicitation will remain open and proposals will be accepted continuously now through March 13, 2025.
The City will offer a retainer of $500 to those contractors with whom the City enters into a snowplow contract, which will be payable as set forth in the solicitation. Contracts will be evaluated based on Contractor availability, available equipment and experience. The
City undertakes to rotate assignments among its various snowplowing contractors. Accordingly, a contractor who has a contract with the City for snowplowing services may not be requested by the City to provide services during any given snow event.
The City encourages certified minority, women and disadvantaged business owners to submit a contract. The City reserves the right to reject any contract in whole or in part, for any reason that the City deems to be in its best interests. Contact Carissa Sullivan at 301-809-2339 or
csullivan@cityofbowie.org
with any questions.
