The City of Fate is seeking fully licensed and insured architectural firms, either independently or in partnership with licensed and insured engineering and design firms, to provide design, engineering, and construction services for three key projects:
1. Construction of a new police facility.
2. The remodel of a city-owned building into a Fire Department facility.
3. The remodel of the current downtown Fire Station.
This project has a total budget of $17,000,000, covering all costs, including design, architectural services, engineering, and construction. The facility's final program elements will be determined during the design process. The selected design team must deliver a program and design that adheres to the budget while meeting the City’s operational and functional needs.
Services required include conducting site analyses, performing needs assessments, and developing concept drawings and presentations for City Council review, along with related tasks. The City seeks a firm capable of completing all project elements in a cost-effective and detailed manner, ensuring compliance with any future granting agency requirements. Interested firms are invited to submit proposals demonstrating their qualifications and ability to meet the City’s needs. Proposals must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. on January 31, 2025, to be considered.
Project Overview
The City of Fate is seeking architectural services for the development of three distinct projects:
1. New Police Facility: Located at 136 Tony Lane, Fate, Texas 75087, this project involves designing a 20,000-square-foot, two-story facility tailored to meet the operational needs of the Fate Police Department. The facility will include Phone: 972.771.4601 | Fax: 972.722.8266 1900 CD Boren Pkwy | Fate, Texas 75087 www.FateTX.gov administrative offices, police patrol areas, detective offices, a training room, locker rooms, a physical fitness center, interview rooms, parking, a secure vehicle examination garage, a property and evidence processing area, and a secure evidence storage area. The design must comply with all applicable local building codes and safety standards to ensure functionality, security, and efficiency. Features such as a jail or holding cells, sally port, dispatch/communications office, and shooting range are not required as part of the project scope. See Attachment A for lot survey.
2. This project involves remodeling a 5,000 square foot city-owned building on an approximately 2-acre parcel located south of the city to serve as a new Fire Department facility. The design will address the operational needs of the Fire Department, with specific program elements to be determined during the design process. Please refer to Attachment B for the survey. Additionally, the facility must accommodate six full-time fire personnel. The facility will include: i. Individual bunk rooms ii. A kitchen iii. A day room iv. Two shower-restroom combinations v. Two pull-through apparatus bays vi. Bunker gear storage vii. Three office spaces
3. Downtown Fire Station Remodel: The existing Fire Station, located on a 0.40-acre site in downtown Fate, will undergo a remodel to optimize its functionality and support the Department of Public Safety's operations. The remodel will focus on addressing current space limitations and enhancing operational efficiency. See Attachment C for floor plan. The selected design team will ensure that all three projects adhere to the City's operational and functional requirements while remaining within the total project budget.
