La Mott Community Center Renovations

Cheltenham Township, Montgomery County, 8230 Old York Road, Elkins Park, PA 19027 (hereinafter “Township”) will receive sealed bids online for La Mott Community Center Renovations project. Sealed bids are due no later than 2:00 pm , prevailing time, on Thursday, August 6, 2026 , via the OpenGov Procurement Portal: https://procurement.opengov.com/portal/cheltenhamtownship .

The project generally consists of renovations and a small addition to an existing one-story community center along with site work. The mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems will be replaced in their entirety. The full project details are available in the bid documents and plans in the Attachments section.

Work will be bid as the following Prime Contracts:

Contract No. 1 General Construction
Contract No. 2 HVAC Construction
Contract No. 3 Plumbing Construction
Contract No. 4 Electrical Construction

All documents and solicitation details are available online at the OpenGov Procurement Portal at: https://procurement.opengov.com/portal/cheltenhamtownship . All bidders shall create a FREE account with OpenGov Procurement by signing up at https://procurement.opengov.com/signup . The responding bidder is solely responsible for all costs related to the preparation and submission of the bid. The results will be posted via the OpenGov Procurement Portal.

Bidders are responsible for reviewing all project documents, specifications, plans, addenda, notices, and any other information issued for this project. To the extent any information displayed in the OpenGov portal differs from or is inconsistent with the official bid documents, the bid documents, including any issued addenda and notices, shall govern. Submission of a bid constitutes acknowledgment that the Bidder has reviewed all official project documents and incorporated all revisions, clarifications, and modifications into its bid.

The La Mott Community Center, located in the historic La Mott neighborhood, has served the La Mott and Cheltenham community since 1941. This much anticipated renovation of the former La Mott Grammar School, built in 1879, has gone through extensive public vetting and review and is being supported by federal, state and county grants. The Cheltenham Township community is looking forward to seeing the heart of the La Mott neighborhood reopen its doors in 2027 to serve the needs of current and future residents, while meeting modern operational efficiency, safety, accessibility and space standards.
