Solicitation Description:

Texas Historical Commission (THC) isseeking quotes for Southern Yellow Pine timber, to be shaped as palisade-styleposts, treated, and delivered to Mission Dolores State Historic Site in SanAugustine, Texas, to be utilized in the Mission Dolores Evocation Project,seeking to create an approximation of the historic 1721 Spanish mission nearthe present-day Mission Dolores State Historic Site.

Must deliver a minimum of 500 Southern Yellow Pinepoles, 12 feet in length, at 8 to 10 inches in diameter, peeled, and cut in thepalisade style of the 18 th century and wood appropriately treated topreserve against environment.

The poles must undergo a .40 General CCA (ChromatedCopper Arsenate) treatment to extend their lifespan. This treatment is crucialfor protecting the wood against termites, weathering, and rotting, with anexpected long-term durability.

Will coordinate with THC Project Manager, MissionDolores Site Manager, and other appropriate personnel for specifications onproduct delivery and progress of timber acquisition.

All work shall be performed in strict compliance with all applicable Localand State codes.

The Mission Dolores State Historic Site is a historic landmark andproperty that maintains the grounds of the 1721 mission site, playing a vitalrole in the preservation of a historic site of 18 th century Spanish Texas.Treat all grounds and site structures with care.

State Historic Sites are administered by the Texas HistoricalCommission and do not require local permitting normally associated with privatecommercial projects.

The Texas Historical Commission (IBC, Secretary of the InteriorStandards), the State Fire Marshal’s Office (NFPA), and the Texas Department ofLicensing and Regulation (Texas Accessibility Standards) are the authoritieshaving jurisdiction (AHJ) unless noted otherwise.

Services are estimated to take place between March17, 2025, and delivered to the site by April 30, 2025 . Anyface-to-face meetings regarding the project deemed necessary by awarded Supplier/Contractor(s)and/or THC will take place at Mission Dolores State Historic Site, 701 S.Broadway St., San Augustine, TX 75972.
