THOMAS CREEK CONSERVATION AREA, DUVAL COUNTY Cooked Hoof Road Timber Sale

The Governing Board of the St. Johns River Water Management District is requesting sealed bids for a per ton timber sale comprised of approximately 118 acres (“Sale Area”) within the Thomas Creek Conservation Area, located in Duval County, Florida. The Sale Area is in Section 27; Township 1 North; Range 25 East. Sale boundaries include a railroad track on the eastern boundary, bayhead swamps, and a posted property boundary. (Maps are included in the attached agreement.)

This timber sale is clearcut harvest being conducted in a slash pine plantation that was established in 1993. All merchantable timber within the sale area shall be harvested. The District estimates the volume of timber conveyed in this Agreement to be 2,800 tons of pine pulpwood, 2,880 tons of chip-n-saw, 4,790 tons of sawtimber, and 566 tons of hardwood, but there is no guarantee that the volume is present.
