Description

Product Manager Soldier Weapons (PdM SW) will be hosting a Virtual Precision Grenadier System (PGS) Technology Demonstration Industry Day on January 14-15, 2025 via Microsoft Teams. This Industry Day will address a new and separate effort to the Program of Record (POR) and is intended as a risk reduction effort. The purpose of the PGS Technology Demonstration is for interested vendors to identify a System Element(s) that can be matured in direct support of the PGS System Concept. This Industry Day includes a session with all attendees followed by one-on-ones with vendors desiring to virtually meet with Government personnel beyond the scheduled agenda. Offerors are not required to participate in this Industry Day in order to respond to the PGS Technology Demonstration or PGS POR. Industry Day shall commence at 0900 hrs on January 14, 2025 with one-on-ones beginning on January 15, 2025. The PGS Technology Demonstration effort is currently funded and is anticipated to begin in CY25. The purpose of the Industry Day is to provide industry with the following information:

1) The intent of the DRAFT PGS Technology Demonstration Prototype Project Opportunity Notice (PPON).

2) Provide industry the approach and schedule for this effort.

3) Facilitate questions and answers to clarify Government’s strategy and requirement.

DESCRIPTION:

The Precision Grenadier System (PGS) is envisioned to be a Soldier portable, shoulder fired, semi-automatic, magazine fed, integrated armament system (weapon, ammunition, fire control) that enables rapid, precision engagements to destroy personnel targets in defilade and in the open with increased lethality and precision compared to legacy grenade launchers, while also not impacting Soldier mobility. The PGS is anticipated to be deployed as a Soldier’s primary weapon system, providing organic, close-quarters combat, counter-defilade, and counter-UAS capabilities through a family of ammunition to ranges in concert with the rest of the squad’s battlespace, and requiring minimal resupplies to support. This capability shall provide overmatch to comparable threat grenade launchers in near-peer formations in future operating environments to include urban, jungle, woodland, subterranean, and desert, in day, night, or obscured conditions.

GENERAL REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS

Vendors desiring to participate in the virtual PGS Industry Day shall complete the following attached forms and send them by email to Corey Woodson, corey.w.woodson.civ@army.mil and Katie Lyons, katie.j.lyons.civ@army.mil

- RCDDAC Form 1350

- DD Form 2345, Military Critical Technical Data Agreement

Vendors desiring to participate in one-on-ones shall submit the name and email address of participants to the below Point of Contact. Requests must be submitted by 10 January 2025 to be considered to participate in the one-on-ones. The Government reserves the right to deny vendor one-on-one requests. During one-on-ones, vendors will have the opportunity to ask the USG questions about the DRAFT PPON and seek further clarification of its strategy and requirement in order to provide an appropriate response. One-on-ones shall not exceed 45 minutes per vendor. One-on-one timeslots will be on a first come first serve basis. While not guaranteed, the Government will attempt to accommodate vendor requests for different timeslots. One-on-one invitations will be sent to participants once a time-slot is assigned but no later than 13 January 2025.

One-on-ones will inform the Government of the current and developing capabilities of the Industrial base, as well as provide vendor partners the opportunity to showcase their PGS technologies and discuss information and questions in a private forum.

NO TELEPHONE INQUIRES WILL BE ACCEPTED. This will be an information session only. Vendors are free to submit questions although, they may not be answered prior to PPON for Technology Demonstration release. No competition-sensitive or vendor proprietary information/data will be released. All vendor information will be treated confidentially. No sales pitches will be allowed from industry, or giveaways. The Government will not entertain vendor Non-Disclosure Agreements.

This announcement should not be construed as a Request For Proposal (RFP) or a commitment by the Government. No contract or award is intended as a result of this Industry Day and/or one-on-ones nor does the Government intend to pay for any information received. Any response to Industry Day and/or one-on-ones is not an offer and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding award. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION AND DOES NOT OBLIGATE THE GOVERNMENT TO ISSUE A SOLICITATION. The Government will NOT ACCEPT proposals at this time. Vendors will not be notified of the results of this Industry Day.

There are no vendor costs to participate in this event. A lack of participation in the Industry Day and/or one-on-ones does not preclude participation in any future solicitations, if any are issued.

This event is for Government planning purposes only and constitutes a request for exchange of information pursuant to FAR 15.201. Following the Industry Day, the Government plans to release a FINAL PPON for PGS Technology Demonstration.
