The City of Garfield is seeking a full-time Recreation Director whose duties are, but not limited to:

Plan, promote, organize, and administer a comprehensive recreation service for the community.

Study community recreation needs and develop short-term and long-term plans to meet these needs.

Establish and maintain cooperative planning and working relationships with other local community agencies and interested individuals.

Stimulate public interest in recreation activities.

Organize and oversee recreational programs and activities for an assigned group.

Assist with activity planning, implementation and evaluation.
-
Coordinate or assist with coordinating of City events.
-
Other related work as required.
Minimum five years of experience required in recreation work involving planning, promoting, organizing, and/or directing a recreation service. Appointees will be required to possess a valid NJ driver's license. Certified Pool Operator (CPO) is preferred and/or will be a requirement upon hire.
