Former DPW Facility Demolition and Improvements Project
The Town of Longmeadow is accepting sealed bids for the Former DPW Facility Demolition and Improvements Project.
The Project scope consists of site clearing and site preparation, building demolition and ACM abatement, low permeability material closure system of former burn dump landfill, grading, and earthwork, hydroseeding and mulching, and building improvements.

Bid submission for both General Contractor and Sub-Bid Contractors shall be delivered in a sealed envelope labeled ‘IFB- Former DPW Facility Demolition and Improvements Project’, with documentation of ‘General Contractor Bid’ or ‘Sub-Bid’ as applicable on the outer envelope, along with bidder’s contact information. DCAMM contractor certification is required for all bids, and shall include with their bid submission a DCAMM Certificate of Eligibility, and Update Statement for applicable trades. The project estimate is $2,070,355.
Sealed bids for DCAMM Electrical filed sub-bids will be accepted at the Longmeadow Purchasing Department until the Electrical sub-bid deadline of Friday, May 29, 2026 at 11:00am.
Sealed bids for the General Contractor, the Prime Contractor must be DCAMM certified as a Prime Contractors in the DCAMM category of either General Building Construction OR Demolition to be eligible to bid. Bids for the General Contractor will be accepted until the General Contractor bid deadline of Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at 11:00am.
After bids are opened, no bidder may withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days.
An Optional Site Conference will take place at the old DPW located at 31 Pondside Road, Longmeadow, MA 01106 on Thursday, May 21, 2026 at 10:00am
General Contractor Bids and Sub-Bids shall be accompanied by a bid deposit in an amount which is not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid amount. Bid deposits shall be made payable to the ‘Town of Longmeadow’ in the form of a bid bond or a certified check, treasurer's check or cashier's check issued by a responsible bank or trust company. The awarded contractors shall comply with payment of minimum labor wage rates as set forth under the provisions of M.G.L., Chapter 149, Sections 26 to 27H inclusive. A Performance Bond, and a Labor and Materials Payment Bond each in the amount of 100% will be required upon contract award.
The Town of Longmeadow acting through the Town Manager, the Awarding Authority reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive minor informalities, and award a contract in the best interest of the Town.
