Middle Park West Parking Lot Reconstruction Project

The proposed improvements consist of reconstructing approximately 2,600 square yards of an existing six-inch (6”) Portland Cement Concrete (PCC) parking lot with new PCC curb and gutter and a 5” Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) surface on a drainable subbase with sub-drains. Also included with this project is the removal and replacement of storm sewer, removal and replacement of 4” PCC sidewalk, sodding, erosion control, and other work related to reconstructing this parking lot.

The bidder to whom the Contract is awarded shall commence work no later than the date to begin work set forth in a Notice to Proceed from the City or its authorized representative, to the Contractor. All work shall be done in strict compliance with the plans and specifications prepared by the Engineer of the Engineering Division of the Public Works Department of Bettendorf, Iowa.

All work on this contract shall commence on or after the date specified in the Notice to Proceed, but no later than September 1, 2026. All work on this contract shall be completed by November 1, 2026, whichever comes first. The beginning and completion dates will be included in and made part of the contract between the successful bidder and the City. Liquidated damages in the amount of Five Hundred Dollars and no/100 ($500.00) per calendar day shall be charged for every day past the completion date.
