Description: Brunswick County is soliciting informal bids for horizontal directional drilling and associated utility work at the locations listed below. On September 16, 2024, Potential Tropical Cyclone #8 made landfall in North Carolina, resulting in significant flash flooding that caused road washouts and exposed or compromised utility infrastructure at multiple locations in Brunswick County. The scope of work includes horizontal directional drilling of new water lines, installation of all associated appurtenances and tie-ins, and restoration of service. All newly installed piping must be pressure tested, flushed, chlorinated, and pass BAC-T (bacteriological) testing prior to being reconnected to the existing water distribution system to ensure operational integrity and compliance with state regulations. Project Locations: • 1225 Holden Beach Road SW, Supply, NC 28462 – Approximately 300 linear feet of 12-inch waterline via horizontal directional drilling • 3261 George II Highway SE, Southport, NC 28461 – Approximately 245 linear feet of 10-inch waterline via horizontal directional drilling
