1. Invitation to Bid
Metrix Management, acting as Construction Manager
(CM) on behalf of the Owner, invites qualified contractors
to submit bids for Steel Handrail/Guardrail for the Garden
City Fire Station Renovation Project. The project will
involve interior and exterior renovations of the existing
fire station facility to meet 2021 Michigan Mechanical
Code along with the 2021 Michigan Rehabilitation Code
for Existing Buildings.

3. Scope of Work – Steel Handrail/Guardrail
The scope of this bid package includes the following:

A-2.0, A-5.1, & A-5.2, dated & marked: "Permit 11-21-25"
1. Northeast Exterior Ramp (Cored and set in concrete)
2. Northwest Exterior Ramp (Cored and set in concrete). Return
on south elevation of this ramp is to be wall mounted, not
cored.
3. Southeast Interior Wall Rail (Wall Mounted, both sides)
4. Southeast Exterior Ramp (Cored and set in concrete, both sides)
5. Interior Kitchen Floor (Cored and set in concrete) & Wall Rail
4. General Requirements
• Work must comply with MIOSHA safety
standards and manufacturer installation
requirements.
• This project is TAX EXEMPT and should be priced
accordingly. Documentation will be provided to
the awarded contractor.
• Contractor must supply shop drawings for
approval prior to fabrication.
• Contractor is responsible for field verification of all
dimensions prior to fabrication and installation.
• Contractors must coordinate with other trades and
superintendent to avoid conflicts.
• All work areas must be maintained in a clean and
safe condition; debris to be removed daily.
5. Insurance
• Contractors must provide proof of liability insurance
and worker’s compensation coverage upon award.
Bid Submission Requirements

• Late bids will not be accepted.
• The Construction Manager and Owner reserve the
right to reject any or all bids, waive irregularities,
and accept the bid deemed most advantageous.
