General Notice
Charter Township of Waterford (Owner) is requesting Bids for the completion of the following Project:
Charter Township of Waterford Hydrant Painting
(DLZ No. 2645-8045-00)
Bids for the construction of the Project will be received at the Charter Township of Waterford Hall
located at 5200 Civic Center Drive, Waterford, Michigan 48329, until Thursday, July 9, 2026, at 2:00 local
time. At that time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read.
Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope clearly marked on the outside the following,

and shall clearly show the name of the submitter.
The Project, of which the Work under the contract documents is a part, is generally described as follows:
Surface prepare each hydrant in accordance to SSPC-SP 6 requirements prior to blast cleaning.
Abrasive blast clean hydrants to a SSPC-SP6 commercial finish with containment. Apply a three (3)
coat system comprising of zinc-rich primer coat, epoxy intermediate coat, and urethane finish coat as
specified.
Note to contractor: Surface prepare, blast or spot power tool clean, and then paint. All spent abrasive
and paint chips must be vacuumed prior to prime coat application.
Check all hydrants after painting to verify that chains, swivels, and caps are loose.
Furnish and comply with all appropriate traffic controls according to MDOT standard details.
