National Urban Park Public, First Nations and Métis Engagement
Synopsis:

The purpose of this Request for Proposals (RFP) is to invite Proponents to prepare and submit competitive proposals to conduct general public, First Nations and Métis engagement to support exploration of the potential designation of a National Urban Park (NUP) in the Saskatoon region.

The successful Proponent will work with Meewasin and the NUP Steering Committee (Government of Saskatchewan, Parks Canada, City of Saskatoon, RM of Corman Park, Saskatoon North Partnership for Growth, the University of Saskatchewan, Wanuskewin Heritage Park, Saskatoon Tribal Council, and Métis Nation-Saskatchewan) to establish engagement protocols, content, and timelines. Engagement will include in-person and online activities (including but not limited to open houses, trail intercept surveys, small group sessions, web surveys, and visiting First Nations and Métis communities).

Additional Information:

The successful Proponent will develop an overall engagement plan, schedule and necessary inputs including key messages for each audience and areas of interest and sensitivity. The Proponent will be expected to facilitate each engagement activity including event logistics and create content to be shared. Content may include printed materials including paper handouts, display boards and online information including any required portals or surveys. A website has been established for the NUP exploration which can be modified to suit this purpose: www.urbanparksask.ca. The Proponent will consolidate feedback collected during the engagement into a final report which will be used to refine the Proposal for a potential NUP in the Saskatoon region. Meewasin has worked with the NUP Steering Committee to develop draft Vision, Boundaries and Governance, as well as a Conceptual Capital and Operating Plan. These documents will be shared with the successful proponent. Content to be shared during engagement sessions will be based on these draft documents. The intent of this engagement is to gather public, First Nations and Métis feedback on the NUP concepts developed to date.
