Project Description: The Abbott Street Lock is located in Hugh Moore Park in Easton, PA. The lock is a
functioning hydraulic lock that is able to raise and lower the mule-drawn canal boat during
tour rides. This hydraulic capability is accomplished through the use of a drop gate at the
entrance to the lock and a pair of miter gates on the exit side of the lock. The existing
timber miter were installed in the 1980’s and now need to be replaced as a result of a failure
of the left gate. The City does not have any plans or specifications for the gates so
interested firms will need to copy what is in the field in the creation of their plan set.
Bidder shall submit all questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents via the “Messages/Vendor Discussions” feature in PennBid.
The City of Easton reserves the right to reject a bid for any reason.
