Medford Housing Authority (MHA), in consultation with the Cambridge Housing Authority (CHA), is requesting proposals from qualified architectural firms registered in Massachusetts and with relevant experience, for construction administration services associated with the Phase 1 Redevelopment of Walkling Court, a state-assisted elderly housing development in Medford, MA. As part of the redevelopment the property will be converted to federally assisted housing through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Restore-Rebuild program.
Basic services include providing construction administration and supervision including requisite design services required by that phase on at $92 million new construction of six story mid-rise building. Design documents are 100% complete with construction bidding beginning in January 2026, and an expected financial closing in late Spring 2026. We anticipate construction by July 1, 2026.
This is a qualifications-based RFP. MHA/CHA will identify the most qualified respondent according to the criteria set forth in the RFP and then enter into negotiations with that respondent regarding a fee for services.
Interested firms must submit their proposal to MHA/CHA by Monday, January 12, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. A pre-proposal briefing session will be held via zoom on Monday, January 5, 2026 at 10 a.m. While attendance is not mandatory, we encourage you to attend the session to better familiarize yourself with the project. Proposal requirements and a zoom link to the pre-proposal meeting may be obtained on Tuesday, December 23, 2025 via email by reaching out to Zak Davidson at zdavidson@cambridge-housing.org.
If you have any questions or require directions to the pre-proposal briefing session, please email or call Gabe Ciccariello at MHA at gciccariello@medfordhousing.org, (781) 396-7200 ext. 140 or Zak Davidson at CHA at zdavidson@cambridge-housing.org, (617) 520-6344.
