Project Background: The heat exchanger is worn out and thus the furnace needs to be replaced.  The furnace is from 1997 and is outdated.  The repairs would be costly and only putting off the replacement for a short time.  The replacement is needed to avoid frozen pipes and to make the office comfortable for staff and park patrons.
Specifications/Scope of Work:
The new furnace needs to be replaced with a 60K BTU Gas Furnace, 3.5 Ton Blower, 17inch.  96% Efficient energy start certified.  New furnace is required to have a manufacturer’s warranty and one year labor warranty.  The furnace should work with the existing thermostat and does not need to be cover under warranty.  The new furnace should be installed with 16x25x1 filter rack.  Remove all necessary parts from existing gas valve and install a conversion kit for furnace equipment to be operated of liquid propane.  Proper venting should be check and fixed to make sure the furnace runs the most efficient.  All operations should be tested for good operation.

Site Visit & Point of Contact
Prior to submitting a bid response, offerors are encouraged to visit.   Site can be visited Mon-Fri 8am-4:30pm or by appointment to ensure staff is available call 937-767-1274 to schedule.
Once a contract is awarded, failure of the bidder to have requested a site visit to become familiar with the facility and requirements of the bid will be insufficient reason to support any request to be released from the contract.
Project Award
For bids involving service projects on DNR property, the lowest apparent bidder will be required to provide 2 examples of similar completed projects including photos.  Provide the person’s name,  organization name, phone number and email address for each project example.  In addition, the bidder must complete a pre-award meeting with appropriate DNR staff to ensure that the materials and scope are mutually understood.
Evaluation. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder as determined by the State.
Contract Award. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder by low lot total.  Low lot total will be determined by multiplying the unit cost by the estimated usage listed in the bid and then adding each of the totals together to arrive at a total for all items. Failure to bid all items may result in the bidder being deemed not responsive.
