COMMUNICATION
During the bid process, all communication relating to this bid shall be directed to the Director of Purchasing identified above.
Failure to meet the requirement may consider your bid non-responsible.
All questions relating to this project shall be directed to the Director of Purchasing identified above in the form of an email no
later than Wednesday, December 10, 2025, by 2:00 PM. Answers will be provided to all bidders in the form of an addendum
Friday, December 12, 2025, at 2:00 PM.
DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT:
Union County Public Schools seeks quotes/informal bids for the above referenced Project.
The Scope of Work is attached as Exhibit 1.
AWARD:
UCPS desires to promptly approve and sign a contract after a decision has been made to award. Company awarded the
contract is expected to promptly sign the contract in the form attached hereto as Exhibit A. Any requested changes to this
contract form should be provided with your response.
UCPS reserves the right to award this project in a method considered to be most advantageous. This includes the right to
issue single award, multiple awards, or reject all bids. UCPS is not required to award a contract.

Scope of work:
Contractor is to provide all equipment, materials, permits, inspections, workmanship, etcetera, as needed to provide a
turn-key project for installation of new 10,000-gallon septic tank.
Contractor Requirements:
The contractor must possess all required and valid licenses, certifications, and permits necessary to perform the scope of
work in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Proof of current licensing must be
provided with the proposal submission. Failure to provide documentation may result in disqualification.

Scope of Work
Project: Installation of New 10,000-Gallon Septic Tank
Location: 4511 Unionville Elementary School.

Mandatory site meet- Monday 1st December 11.00 AM (At the site of the original tank, as
shown on the map.)
1. Overview
This scope of work covers the removal of the existing septic tank and the installation of a
new 10,000-gallon septic tank, including connection to the existing 4" sewer line. The tank
should be of a concrete or fiberglass type; the make and model must be submitted along
with the bid. The contractor shall ensure all work is completed in accordance with local
health department, state regulations, and environmental regulations, manufacturer’s
installation guidelines, and accepted industry practices.
2. Works to be Completed
2.1 Removal of Existing Septic Tank
- Excavate and expose the existing septic tank.
- Safely pump out and dispose of any remaining contents in accordance with local
regulations.
- Remove the existing septic tank and dispose of it at an approved facility.
- Backfill and compact the excavated area as necessary to prepare for installation of the new
tank.
2.2 Installation of New 10,000-Gallon Septic Tank
- Excavate to the required depth and dimensions for the new 10,000-gallon septic tank as
per the manufacturer's guidelines.
- Prepare a suitable foundation/sub-base (e.g., compacted stone or concrete pad as per
manufacturer’s specifications) to prevent settlement or sinking.
- Install the new septic tank, ensuring it is level, stable, and correctly aligned with inlet
elevation.
- Supply and install tank risers, access covers, and all necessary fittings and seals.
- Connect the new septic tank to the existing 4" sewer line using appropriate couplings and
watertight connections as per the NC Plumbing Code.
- Ensure all connections are tested for proper flow and leak-free operation.
2.3 Site Restoration
- Backfill around the tank using suitable material, compacted in layers to prevent future
settlement.
- Grade and level the surrounding area to existing site conditions.
- Restore any disturbed ground, including re-seeding or surface restoration as required.
3. Materials and Equipment
- To Be Supplied by Contractor: All machinery, labor, and materials required to complete the
work.
- To Be Supplied by Client: Septic tank, risers, and any specified connection components.
4. Quality and Safety
- Installation must be carried out in accordance with the manufacturer’s installation
instructions and all applicable codes and regulations.
- The contractor shall take all necessary safety precautions during excavation and
installation.
- The final installation must ensure the septic tank will not settle or shift over time due to
improper compaction or sub-base preparation.
5. Completion
- Upon completion, the system shall be inspected and approved by the client.
- All disturbed areas shall be restored to the satisfaction of the client.
