The three existing bioretention cells are approximately 15,400 square feet in total surface area combined. Only one of the three bioretention cells (4,000 square feet) requires full rehabilitation of bioretention media layer;the other two will include minor repair to remove existing vegetation, rototill and regrade media, and replant per the landscaping plan. In addition, an existing traffic island in the adjacent parking lot will be retrofitted to construct a bioretention cell that is approximately 900 square feet. Lastly, a 750-linear foot walking trail will be constructed along two of the bioretention cells, behind the tennis courts, and connected to the main park walking path. The walking trail includes 430-linear feet of permeable pavement (plastic grid pavers with washed stone base layer for storage) and 320-linear feet of concrete that is graded to drain to the bioretention cells.
