Oregon State University intends to contract for the provision of Morphologi4 ID from Malvern Panalytical as a sole source because of the contractor being the only provider able to meet critical parameters or timeframes to support the research and/or business needs of the university. Malvern Panalytical's Morphologi4 ID is the only known instrument that integrates the specifications below that are needed for Oregon State University’s research need to analyze the composition of cement by measuring particle size distribution, particle shape and chemical identification of individual particles in a single measurement to identify individual materials that compose cement.
• Chemical identification and particle size distribution using Raman spectroscopy.
• Automated Raman analysis (occurs following particle count) with integrated Raman probe.
• Raman probe (785 nm laser) has adjustable laser power and rotatable polarizer.
• Particle size distribution and Raman for particles: 0.5 um up to 50 um (min/max particle size).
• Magnification of particles 50X, 20X, 10X, 5X and 2.5X objectives.
• Analysis of dry (powder sample) and wet sample preparations.
