Fire Station No. 23 Drain Field

The Clay County Board of County Commissioners (County) is seeking to undertake a crucial upgrade and remediation project for the drainage system at Fire Station No. 23. This initiative involves the removal and environmentally responsible disposal of a failing drain field. In its place, comprehensive remediation efforts will be conducted which include excavating the compromised soil and replacing it with new, uncontaminated soil. Additionally, the project includes the construction of two new drain fields: one to replace the original and another newly added on the opposite side of the existing septic tank.

To further enhance the system, the installation of an additional septic tank is planned, which will be equipped with two (2) effluent pumps, each with a control panel and four (4) floats, designed to independently manage each drain field. The design of the new system will incorporate a trench layout to ensure effective waste management and infrastructure longevity.

Upon completion of the structural installations, the site will undergo final landscaping touches, including seeding and the application of hay to aid in area stabilization and aesthetic restoration. This project is vital for maintaining the operational readiness and safety standards.
