The City of Pasadena Water and Power Department (PWP) is seeking bids from qualified contractors to provide as-needed crane services for hoisting Turbines and heavy equipment at Glenarm Power Plant. The selected contractor will be responsible for supplying certified crane operators, rigging personnel, and all necessary equipment to safely perform lifting operations in accordance with industry best practices and applicable safety regulations.

The resulting contract will be for a multi-year term, with work performed on an as-needed basis. Bidders must demonstrate experience in crane operations and provide proof of appropriate licensing, certifications, and insurance coverage.

Background

PWP’s Glenarm Power Plant consists of five (5) natural gas-fired combustion turbine units (GTs). GT-1, GT-2, GT-3, and GT-4 are simple cycle units and GT-5 is a combined cycle unit. GT-1 and GT2 are 1970’s-era Curtiss-Wright simple cycle gas turbines each rated at 26 MW. GT-3 and GT-4 are GE LM6000 simple cycle gas turbines with a capacity of 47 MW each. GT-5 is a combined cycle unit with a GE LM6000 gas turbine and Shin Nippon Steam Turbine with a total combined capacity of 71 MW.
