An Electronic Bid Bond must be submitted with this bid, through one of the respective clearing

SUPPLY AND INSTALL CABINET SHOWERS
Section 1.0 – Site Visits:
Site visits are being offered for this bid. To schedule a site visit, please get in touch with Fred
Carreras between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Mr. Carreras can be
reached at 504-736-6043.
Section 2.0 – Scope:
We extend this proposal to cover all labor, materials, equipment, and incidentals necessary to
install ten (10) front access stainless steel cabinet showers at the Jefferson Parish Correctional
Center, 100 Dolhonde Street, Gretna, LA 70053.
Base bid:
• 2A one shower
• 2B one shower
• 2C one shower
• 2D one shower
• 2nd floor Isolation Pod, one shower
• 3A two showers
• 3B one shower
• 3C two showers
Alternate 1:
• 4B one shower
Alternate 2:
• 4C two shower
Alternate 3:
• 4D two shower
• 4A two showers
Note: In the event any of the alternates are accepted, all work shall be performed as per
these specifications.

Section 3.0 –Bonds:
• Surety Bond: An Electronic bid bond in the amount of 5% of the total bid will be
required with bid submission. The vendor shall indicate the electronic bid bond
number in the location specified on the electronic bid envelope. No scanned
copies of bid bonds will be accepted as part of the electronic bid submission.
• Performance Bond: A Performance Bond of 50% of the total contract price will
be required. The performance bond shall be produced upon contract execution.
• Payment Bond: A Performance Bond equal to 50% of the total contract price will
be required. The performance bond shall be produced upon contract execution.
Section 4.0 – License Requirements:
The following Louisiana State contractor’s licenses and certifications will be required
for this bid and must be included in the bid submission. Failure to comply will result
in the bid being rejected.

required for this bid:

Section 5.0 – Quantities/Inspection:
Bidders must inspect the site and perform their measurements to determine the proper
quantity of labor, materials, and equipment required to complete this project.
Section 6.0 – Submittals:
If the bidder intends to provide materials equal to or better than owner-specified
materials, the following shall be provided upon request.
• Manufacturer's catalog data.
• Detail sheets
• Specifications of the product
• Warranty information
Section 7.0 – Bid Specifications:
• All materials shall be bidder-supplied new.
• All materials shall be applied as per all manufacturer recommendations and guidelines.
Provide all labor, materials, and incidentals necessary to perform the work below for each
shower enclosure installed.
• Remove and properly dispose of existing shower cabinets.
• Properly repair any rough in framing and sub-floor necessary.

Section 7.0 – Bid Specifications: Continued
• Install all rough-in plumbing necessary to accommodate new stainless steel shower
cabinets.
• Drain lines shall use PVC schedule 40 with a “No-hub” connection to cast iron.
• All water supply lines shall match the existing material.
• Install new front access stainless steel knockdown cabinet showers using stainless steel
tamper-resistant hardware.
• Install new 17.5-degree chrome abuse-resistant showerheads.
• Install new 9-volt in-line shower manifolds.
• Install new standalone battery-operated shower controllers.
• Install new sensor with 15’ cable extensions.
• Install new touch LED sensors designed for panel use with stainless steel housing.
• Install new solenoid extension cables.
• All gaps created with the removal and installation of new front access stainless steel
knockdown cabinet showers shall be repaired by manufacturing a 14-gauge stainless
steel trim.
• Stainless steel trim shall be properly welded or fastened using stainless steel tamper-
resistant fasteners.
• Successful bidder must supply Jefferson Parish with new, full-functioning, leak and gap-
free stainless steel front access knockdown cabinet showers.
Section 7.1 – Front Access Knockdown Cabinet Shower:
• 14-gauge type 304 stainless steel panels
• 12-gauge type 304 stainless steel floor and floor reinforcements.
• Satin finished surfaces.
• Slip-resistant shower floor.
• Removable strainer secured with tamper-resistant fasteners
• 2-3/8” OD stainless steel removable no-caulk drain
• Showerhead at 72” discharge height
• 4 anchoring locations
• Shower dimensions 36” Wide x 36” Depth x 88” Tall
Section 8.0 - Hours of Work:
Work that shall not affect the normal operation of this facility can be scheduled during
normal working hours, Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Any work involving
the facility's normal operation must be scheduled after normal working hours or on
weekends.
Section 9.0 – Liquidated Damages:
Commencing on the sixty (60) days following the notice to proceed until work is complete,
liquidated damages will be assessed at $300 per day. Showers shall be replaced one at a
time until the project is complete.
