The City of Charlottesville is requesting bids for IFB 26-54 for TRAILBLAZER ELEMENTARY MODERNIZATION .

Project Description:
This project will create new intervention and breakout spaces within the existing building footprint to better support instructional needs and small-group learning. The work will reconfigure selected interior areas to provide dedicated spaces for targeted academic support, student intervention, and flexible breakout activities, improving overall functionality and student outcomes.

This project supports the school’s instructional mission by creating dedicated intervention and breakout spaces within the existing building footprint. These spaces are essential for small-group instruction, targeted academic support, and flexible learning activities that directly contribute to improved student outcomes.

All construction will occur during the school summer break, creating a clearly defined and non-negotiable work window. While this avoids disruption to students during the academic year, it places a premium on schedule certainty, early mobilization, and disciplined sequencing. The successful vendor must be prepared to begin work promptly at the start of the break and maintain consistent progress to ensure the spaces are fully complete, inspected, and ready for occupancy prior to the start of the school year.

A successful project will be characterized by strong pre-construction planning, proactive coordination with school and district staff, clear communication, and the ability to quickly resolve unforeseen conditions without jeopardizing the completion date.
