Summary

The purpose of this Invitation to Bid (ITB) is to establish a licensed contractor(s) (CONTRACTOR), who has been in business for a minimum of five (5) consecutive years, for ground maintenance services of grounds mentioned within this solicitation for the Sanford Airport Authority (Authority) at the Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB) facilities. The contractor shall furnish/supply all labor, travel, materials, equipment, and supervision as stated herein. Pricing shall be submitted on the bid pricing form, section 12 - Bid Pricing Form of this document and shall be in the form of bid line-item prices, and hourly rates for additional services.

The Contractor shall perform and provide full-service ground maintenance including mowing, string trimming, edging, blowing, weeding, irrigation, annuals, pruning, tree trimming, bushes and hedges trimming, fence trimming, mulch, litter/debris removal, and all other items as described herein for the areas outlined in Exhibit B - Service Areas Maps.

Background

The Orlando Sanford International Airport, Sanford, Florida is owned by the City of Sanford, Florida. The operation and administration of the Airport is under the control and supervision of the Sanford Airport Authority which was created in 1971 under Chapter 71-924 by the Florida State Legislature. There are nine Board members appointed by the City of Sanford Commission. It is the mission of the Sanford Airport Authority to operate, maintain, improve, expand and professionally manage the Orlando Sanford International Airport for the convenience and benefit of the air traveling public and economic development of the Central Florida community. In furtherance of this mission, the Authority shall seek both aviation and non-aviation business and industry to utilize the land, services and facilities located at the airport, and shall manage the airport resources in a prudent, lawful, community-conscious and fiscally responsible manner. The Airport has a rich and unique history that began prior to 1940 that includes supporting City operations, multiple war efforts and host of the New York Giants training camp.
