- Summary:The Threatened Sites grant program is accepting proposals for FY24 grants to address situations where archaeological data is in danger of loss. Each year the Threatened Sites program funds several projects where it is known that a site or collection is in danger. A small amount of funds are held for unexpected events that arise throughout the year; $10,000 is available for the current fiscal year for those such events. Proposals will be reviewed by the Threatened Sites Review Committee and, given the often urgent conditions for these requests, grantees will be notified as soon as possible. All work proposed must be completed and a final report submitted by May 1, 2025. Proposals should be pre-pared using the proposal form on the DHR Threatened Sites Grant Program web page https://www.dhr.virginia.gov/grant-funding/threatened-sites-grant-program/ and sent to Dr. Elizabeth Moore, Elizabeth.moore@dhr.virginia.gov.
