Bid Description:
hrough this Request for Proposal (RFP), the Vermont Department of Forests, Parks and Recreation (FPR) is seeking a qualified service provider to provide financial assistance to logging contractors to ensure implementation of proactive and preventative water quality protection and climate adaptation practices on harvest sites via a legislatively mandated expansion of the Water Quality Assistance Program created under statute (10 VSA 2622 a). This effort has been titled the “Supporting Loggers to Comply with Acceptable Management Practices” or SLoCAMP Program. In the State Fiscal Year 2025, the Vermont Legislature allocated $1 million to expand the Water Quality Assistance Program and thereby provide financial assistance to logging contractors to support implementation of the following practices:
1. Implementation of accepted management practices (AMPs)
2. Purchase by logging contractors of materials or practices that can be used for forest access road construction, landing preparation, bridge construction or installation, culvert protection or installation, and sediment control in advance of harvest implementation
