Description: This is a Request for Qualifications for a design firm to provide professional services in support of a new automated biobanking system. Roswell Park is seeking qualified firms who have successfully completed biobank projects before. Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center intends to solicit competitive bids from design firms for a Biobanking Systems Facility. The goal of the Biobanking Systems Facility is to consolidate Roswell Park’s existing freezer storage into an “error-free” robotic unit. Biospecimens are currently stored in standalone -80 and LN2 freezers that are scattered throughout the Gratwick Basic Science Building (GBSB) and Cell & Virus (C&V) buildings. The new 5,292 GSF facility will provide space and infrastructure for two automated ultra-low temperature freezer units (similar to LiCONiC, Hamilton and Azenta units) but only one will be installed initially. An equipment RFP has been issued for procurement and anticipated equipment selection will be early 2025. The proposed design will allow for additional modules/units to be installed in the future with minimal disruption to the facility. The automated ultra-low temperature freezer units accommodate a wide range of sample requirements and has redundant refrigeration systems as backup in the unlikely event of refrigeration failure. If you would like a copy of the complete RFQ, please email Rob Henschel @ rob.henschel@roswellpark.org with RFQ #25-537 in the subject line.
