Liberty Memorial Central Middle School Historic Window Repair - Lawrence, KS

Intent.

The objective of this Invitation for Bid for Unified School District #497, Lawrence Public Schools, Douglas County, Kansas (“LPS”) is to solicit bids for Liberty Memorial Central Middle School Historic Window Repair as defined within the Project Manual and Drawings. The intent of LPS is to enter into a contract with the successful bidder.

Under this solicitation, LPS will consider bids based upon what constitutes the lowest and best responsive bid.

Any contract, if issued, will be subject to annual appropriation of funds by LPS in accordance with its normal funding practices that will include but is not limited to budget allocations and limitations. In the event that funds are not available in full or in part for a contract issued in connection with this service, this contract will be subject to modification or cancellation depending upon the extent of available funds. If a bidder’s contract is cancelled, or funding is no longer available for work that has already been done per the terms of the contract, the Contractor will be compensated to the greatest extent possible. LPS may cancel the contract in its entirety without penalty if funding is not available.

Pre-bid Meeting: Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at 9:00 AM CDT

IFB Questions Due: Tuesday, April 21, 2026 by 2:00 PM CDT

Answers/Addendum Due: Thursday, April 23, 2026 by 3:00 PM

Bid Due: Wednesday, April 29, 2026 by 2:00 PM CDT

The bids will be publicly opened at 2:00 PM CST on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at the Facilities & Operations building located at 711 East 23rd Street, Building A, Lawrence, KS 66046.

The Board of Education reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive informalities or irregularities in any proposal.

This schedule is tentative and is subject to change for reasons including but not limited to changes in deadlines by LPS.

Pre-Bid Meeting. There will be a pre-bid meeting on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at 9:00 AM CDT at Liberty Memorial Central Middle School, 1400 Massachusetts Street, Lawrence, Kansas 66044. All persons attending the pre-bid meeting must present picture ID at the security desk.

Questions. All questions regarding this IFB shall be made electronically via e-mail and directed to Eddie Phillips at ephillips@nortonschmidt.com . The subject of the e-mail shall be “QUESTION IFB FY- 26-0020.” Failure to provide the correct IFB number in the email will deem the question unanswerable and will not be considered as part of any addenda. Responses to all properly submitted questions will be posted on the District’s E-bidding website as addenda to this IFB. LPS reserves the right to combine questions with similar objectives into a single responsive answer. The deadline for submitting questions on this IFB is 2:00 PM CDT, Tuesday, April 21, 2026 . Any questions submitted after that date and time will not be considered or answered.
