Overview

Summary

Boone County Fiscal Court, through Boone County Parks & Recreation (BCPR), is soliciting Requests for Proposals (RFP) from qualified marine construction contractors for the design, manufacture, delivery, and installation of new public boat docks and an ADA-accessible kayak launch system at Boone’s Landing Marina.

Boone’s Landing is a publicly owned and operated marina on the Ohio River serving recreational boaters, anglers, paddlers, and special events. The intent of this project is to modernize marina infrastructure, improve safety and durability, and expand inclusive access to non-motorized watercraft.

This RFP consolidates scope elements informed by recent vendor proposals and County planning documents into a single, competitive procurement. Contractors may propose equivalent or superior systems provided all functional, safety, and durability requirements are met.

Background

Boone’s Landing Marina is an established river access point that supports trailered boats, transient docking, paddlers, and County-managed programming. Existing infrastructure has reached the end of its service life and requires replacement with modern floating dock systems capable of accommodating variable river conditions and high seasonal use.

Boone County Parks & Recreation has identified the need for:

  • Two new public ramp-adjacent dock systems (left and right ramps)
  • Improved boarding, tie-up, and pedestrian circulation
  • A dedicated, ADA-accessible kayak launch system
