Overview
Summary

The Department of Public Works ("Department", "Owner", "DPW") is seeking an elevator contractor for the Maguire Jail Building Elevator #1 through #4 Upgrade Project (Project). The anticipated construction is to be performed at 400 County Center, Redwood City, CA 94063. The work to be done consists, in general, of providing all labor, materials, tools, appurtenances, and equipment required as well as any other items and details not mentioned but required by the Contract Documents and as directed by the Director of Public Works or the Director's designee.

The target start date and term for the proposed services are subject to negotiation of a final agreement, through the completion of the Project. The Contract Time for completion of all the Work of the Project is Five Hundred Forty-Eight (548) calendar days, as defined as sufficiently complete in accordance with the Contract Documents.

Background

The Department plans, designs, constructs, operates, manages and maintains all County-owned facilities to ensure they are safe and accessible to residents and clients of County agencies, the general public, and County employees. The Department has a budget of approximately $200 million and is staffed with over 300 employees in five divisions: Administrative Services, Airports, Engineering and Resource Protection, Facility Services, and Road Services, supporting the 46 special districts governed by the Board of Supervisors and administered by the Department.
