Project Description: The Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit District (SMART) is a Special District within the State of California that owns, maintains, and operates passenger rail service in Sonoma County and Marin County. In addition to passenger rail service, SMART is a common carrier that owns and operates freight rail services within Sonoma County, Marin County, and Napa County.
SMART is seeking Proposals from qualified, experienced, and proactive Sales and Use Tax Auditing and Forecasting Consultants. The awarded Consultant shall provide sales and use tax audit and recovery services, as well as forecasting services. These services are required to maximize sales and use tax revenue collections and minimize lost revenue by detecting and documenting misallocations of the SMART 1/4% sales and use tax. In addition, the awarded Consultant will be responsible for reporting on and forecasting sales and use tax revenue for SMART.
