The City of Healdsburg is soliciting proposals from knowledgeable, qualified firms for
On-Call Certified Arborist Services
All proposals must be received either by mail or hand-delivered to 401 Grove Street, Healdsburg CA 95448 by May 26, 2026 @ 4PM. The City will not accept proposals submitted by email or fax, nor will it accept proposals submitted after the specified deadline.
The City of Healdsburg (City) seeks proposals to provide On-Call Arborist Services. The qualified respondent will perform a variety of on-call services to preserve, protect, and enhance the City’s tree canopy in support of various City Departments for both privately-owned and City-owned trees. A main component of the services will be to provide consulting services to the following City departments and could include:

Community Development Department: Support project review and permitting by evaluating tree impacts, ensuring compliance with the City’s heritage tree ordinance, and recommend preservation, mitigation, and planting strategies that align with planning and design goals.

Community Services: Enhances parks and public landscapes by assessing tree health and risk, guiding maintenance practices, and developing long-term management plans that improve safety, aesthetics, and community use.

Public Works: Assists with infrastructure projects by providing pre- and post-construction tree evaluations, coordinating protection measures, and recommending solutions that balance tree preservation with roadway, utility, and capital improvement needs.
In addition, the respondent may assist in the review of development applications, work with staff and other interested community groups on programs and tree planting projects that promote the City’s tree canopy. The initial contract will run through June 2029 with the option for a two-year extension (June 2031).
The arborist shall be aware of, and shall comply with, City ordinances governing trees and tree maintenance services, ANSI A300 Tree Management Standards, ISA Best Management Practices, and ANSI Z133 Tree Care Safety Standards.
