All work shall be in accordance with the Allen County Surveyor's Office specifications. By signing below you acknowledge that
you have read and understand the 2025 Allen County Technical Specifications for Open Drain Maintenance.
Scope of Work:
Wappes Drain in Eel River Twp/Sec 3 beginning @ STA 7+25 following the drain East to STA 40+00. Total Length =
3,250 L.F.
Limits of clearing will be 20’ from top of bank on working side to top of bank on non-working side.
Working Side: North side of Drain from STA 7+50 to STA 29+50; South side from STA 29+50 to STA 40+00
Access is from Wappes Rd. along the North & South sides of the drain, utilizing the 75’ regulated drain easement
Wetlands present from STA 7+50 to STA 8+30 on working side.
Muck soils present between STA 8+25 to STA 38+65
Mats will be required from STA 7+50 through STA 8+30
Spoil: Spread on-site; hauled out of wetland areas

NOTE: Contractor must follow IC 36-9-27, applicable state/local laws, and Allen County Surveryor's Office
Technical Specifications. Contractor shall utilize the regulated drain easement. Any access and damage
outside the easement is the responsibility of the Contractor. All drain work is subject to Allen County
Surveyor's Office approval. 48 hours notification for inspection is required before work can begin.

Description:
Location: Wappes Drain in Eel River Twp/Sec 3 beginning @ STA 7+25 following the drain East to

Scope of Work: Contractor shall perform Minor De-Brushing, Ditch Dipping, and Restoration on
the Wappes Drain. All Work shall be in accordance with the Allen County Surveyor’s Office Drain
Maintenance Specifications.
Supplemental Work Not Covered in Technical Specs: NONE
Variation from Technical Specs: Limits of clearing will be 20’ from top of bank on working side to
top of bank on non-working side. Working side will vary.
Limits of Work: Work shall begin at STA 7+50 and proceed to STA 40+00.
Access: Access is from Wappes Rd. along the North & South sides of the drain, utilizing the 75’
regulated drain easement. Contractor shall verify their equipment can access prior to bidding.
Working Side: North side of Drain from STA 7+50 to STA 29+50; South side from STA 29+50 to STA
40+00;
Wetlands: YES: STA 7+50 to 8+30 on working side;
Muck Soils Present: YES: STA 8+25 to STA 38+65
Mats for Equipment Access: YES, Mats will be required @ STA 7+50 thru STA 8+30.

Requirements: Contractor must follow IC 36-9-27, applicable state/local laws, and Allen County
Surveyor's Office (ACSO) technical specifications. Contractor shall utilize the 75’ regulated drain
easement, along the Simmerman Drain, for access. Any access and damage outside the regulated
drain easement is the responsibility of the Contractor.
Contract Timeframe: Work must be completed within 120 days, weather permitting. Provide 48-
hour notice to ACSO prior to start for inspection and approval.
