CITY OF DUBLIN
ADDENDUM #1
RFP #26-0410-01
RICE AVENUE SEWER REPLACEMENT
DATE:
May 1, 2026
TO:
Rice Avenue Sewer Replacement Proposers
FROM:
David Sawyer, Purchasing Director
SUBJECT: Questions & Answers
Question: Flow/Bypass – What is the average and peak flow? Is the bypass
anticipated or confirmed?
Answer: Bypass. This is a basically a dead end sewer. The only services
that are on it are approximately 10 services, some commercial offices,
businesses and residences. The contractor will have to replace the sewer
live under the conditions described. Bypassing is at the option of the
contractor, but sewer spills must be prevented. Existing sewer main is 6”
terra cotta.
Question: Laterals – Can you confirm exact count and depths? Any services
abandoned?
Answer: Approximately 10 services. The manholes are open to inspection
for depth. The lower (tie in) manhole is 4 feet or less deep. The main will
be constructed on a minimum grade of 0.4%. The services must be
connected to the new main. Services will be connected using gasketed
Tees and fittings. Service pipe shall be SDR 26. The upstream manhole is
also approximately 4 feet in depth and the main continues through it,
which is assumed to be a service line.
Question: Utilities – Existing utility locates available?
Answer: Utility locates can be requested by the contractor prior to and
must be done before beginning work. There is one storm drain to cross.
That is the only utility I am aware of at this time, but there may be more
in the area.
Question: Easement – Width? Access restrictions?
Answer: There is a 10 foot alley behind the businesses and houses that
the contractor must work in. This is city right of way. It can be accessed
from Pine Forest Street for the work. See attached plat.
Question: Fence – Exact spec for replacement? Any property owner
requirements?
Answer: Fence types to match existing. Contractor would have to
coordinate with home or business owner to replace fencing, if necessary.
We did another one of these projects and fence replacement ended up
not being necessary. If necessary, one side of the fencing could be
removed and replaced with existing type fencing. The contractor shall
inspect and determine if they feel this is necessary and, if so, include in
their proposal. There are several animals in some of the backyards that
will require temporary fencing. This must be coordinated with the property
owner.
Question: MH Rehab – Can the City confirm the full scope of preparation
required for the Raven lining system, including expectations for infiltration
control, surface prep, and bench repair?
Answer: The existing tie in manhole is approximately 4 feet deep and is
constructed of brick. The contractor may opt to replace the manhole or
line it. System will be PPG RAVEN 405 to be installed as directed by the
manufacturer of the product. Manhole shall be water tight upon
completion.
Be sure to submit this signed form with your proposal to acknowledge your
