CMAR Green Line Riverside and Innerbelt Vehicle Maintenance Facility "VMF" Upgrades - Riverside Package 2B Trade RFQ

The purpose of this project is to prepare the Green Line Vehicle Maintenance Facilities for the new Type 10 Light Rail Vehicles currently being procured by the MBTA. Compared to the current fleet of Type 7, 8, and 9 vehicles, the new vehicles will be longer, heavier, and have more equipment on the roof which requires maintenance. In addition, the Type 10 vehicles are expected to require more stringent wheel profile maintenance than the legacy vehicles.

The scope of work for Riverside Type 10 Pilot Readiness Package 2B is to complete the remaining field modifications to complement the work of Package 1. Package 1 prepares the carhouse for initial Type 10 pilot car delivery, assembly, testing, and commissioning. Package 2B will support these efforts on additional Type 10 car deliveries while also facilitating the long-term, ongoing maintenance of the Type 10 fleet as the legacy fleets are phased out of service.
