Overview
Summary

This project is to clean and revitalize the University Avenue Pedestrian/Bicycle Underpass and ramps to the train station platform. The pedestrian underpass has four underpass pedestrian ramps (2 at the north and 2 at the south side of University Avenue) connecting the train station platform to the underpass sidewalks. The existing paint is peeling, lighting fixtures are broken and need repair.

Background

This project includes power washing, painting the interior surface and installing new lighting fixtures throughout the tunnel. The existing paint color will be matched for the tunnel and ramps leading to the station. New light fixtures and surface mounted conduit will be installed throughout the tunnel and existing fixtures/conduit will be removed. A combination of new paint and brighter lights would provide a more welcoming and inviting gateway entrance to downtown, while providing safety and accessibility for users.
