Summary
The State’s objective is to enable a method of two-way communication to affected persons within a localized and customizable area drawn in the service map, where means of communicating to the traveling public could be limited (like rural areas). The service will allow the State to broadcast more traveler information/emergency notifications during critical events for the purpose of generating better situational awareness, to better manage the incident, respond appropriately, divert travelers out of the affected areas, and improve overall safety for those affected, and those approaching the incident.
