The City of Richmond, Virginia (the “City”), on behalf of the Department of Public Utilities (“DPU”), seeks bids from qualified firms to provide general contracting services for the Byrd Park Main Pumping Station Improvements project (the “Project”).
The services required include, but are not limited to replacement of the existing pumps (B1, B2, and B3), motors, variable frequency drives, and Motor Control Center; installation of a new vacuum priming system; replacement of the existing DPC systems with new PLC systems, and associated instrumentations; installation of a new HVAC system; and miscellaneous facility architectural and structural improvements (the “Work").
The Byrd Park Main Pumping Station pumps B1, B2, and B3 (currently 93 years old) and the Byrd Park Reserve (pump R1) are configured to pump finished water from the WTP finished water basin to Zone 1N and the Byrd Park Reservoir. The goal of this Project is to increase the firm capacity of the Pumping Station by replacing the pumps. Electrical, controls, architectural, and structural improvements to the Pumping Station are needed to increase overall reliability and redundancy levels.
