Request for Proposal for Traffic Engineer 2025

Lower Makefield Township, Bucks County, is soliciting proposals and qualifications from firms interested in serving as Township Traffic Engineer. The Township is a Second Class Township governed by a five-member Board of Supervisors. Day to day operations are overseen by an appointed professional manager, who the Township Traffic Engineer reports through to the Board of Supervisors. The Township is approximately 18.28 square miles with an estimated population of 33,259, an annual General Fund budget of approximately $16 million, and employs 85 full-time employees and approximately 150 part-time/seasonal employees. The Board of Supervisors meets the 1 st and 3 rd Wednesday of each month as well as special meetings on an as-needed basis.

Respondents must have all applicable licenses to perform municipal engineering in Pennsylvania, have at least seven (7) years of experience in a similarly sized municipality, and have experience with doing engineering studies and recommendations on a myriad of issues, including the following:

  • Subdivision and/or Land Development Plan Review;
  • Construction Inspection/Management Services;
  • Municipal Project Design Services;
  • Municipal Construction Administration and Observation;
  • Environmental Services & Regulatory Agency Interactions;
  • Grant/Bid Assistance;
  • Surveying, Easements, and Related Services; and
  • CAD and GIS Capabilities.
