Maintenance Support of New York City Transit Network Management System.

Description of Goods or Services to Be Bid : A contract for a period of up to two years is needed to monitor and manage the New York City Transit (NYCT) Data Operating Network, monitoring the nearly 8,500 data switches and the transmission performance that is essential to operational communication for Customer Information Signs, New Fare Payment system, Automatic Train Control, New Tech Signals and a host of other system applications. The principle responsibility is to inform the Network Operations group within the Telecommunications Division of any faults or troubles within the network to which Telecommunications Maintainers or specialty technical personnel need to be dispatched. At this time, the Network Management System (NMS) that oversees the operating network is based on Helix software, which is uniquely configured for NYCT Asynchronous Transmission Mode (ATM), and customized to meet the needs of NYCT’s multi-faceted network.
