The Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) intends to renew an agreement with The College Board for up to 24 months to provide subsidized purchase of Advanced Placement (AP) exam fees for qualifying Minnesota students. This purchase complies with statute ยง120B.13, by which the Legislature mandates subsidizing AP exam fees to the College Board, with allocations capped at $3,000,000.00 each for FY 2026 and FY 2027. Fees will be paid by state direct billing.
MDE has determined that The College Board offers the only commercially reasonably available commodity product. This is deemed a single source purchase because the Advanced Placement exam is solely owned, distributed and supported by The College Board and is not available from other third parties.
