Sealed bids will be received by the City of Cookeville Public Works Department at 1115 East Spring Street, Cookeville, TN, until _10:00 am__ (local time CST), _Thursday, May 14th, 2026 , for the construction required for the Interstate Drive Roadway Settlement Repair. The Work consists of but is not limited to; cap grouting near the bedrock surface as a treatment to fill voids along the bedrock surface to prevent future roadway settlement with additional compaction grouting to fill voids in the subsurface and consolidate soft soils along approximately 100 linear feet of Interstate Drive spanning the entire five (5) lane roadway. Contract documents, including Instructions for Bidders, are available for purchase and examining at: City of Cookeville, Department of Public Works & Engineering, 1115 East Spring Street, Cookeville, TN 38501.
All bidders shall be required to pay a $150.00 non-refundable charge for each set of contract documents made payable to City of Cookeville. No bids will be received or accepted after the above-specified time for the opening of bids.
Bids shall be accompanied by a cashier's or bank check or Bid Guarantee Bond in the amount not less than Five Percent (5%) of the bid and subject to the conditions provided in the INSTRUCTIONS FOR BIDDERS.
The successful bidder will be required to furnish an acceptable Performance and Payment Bond in the amount of One Hundred Percent (100%) of the contract price, each Bond. The term, “Successful Bidder”, means the lowest, qualified, responsible Bidder to whom Owner (on the basis of Owner’s evaluation as hereinafter provided) makes an award.
All bidders must be licensed contractors to perform the type of construction herein described as required by Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 62, Chapter 6, Amended by Chapter 406 of the Public Works Acts of 1977. No bid will be opened unless the sealed envelope containing the bid provides the following information: the Contractor’s license number, the date of the license’s expiration, and that part of his classification applying to the bid. In the case of joint ventures, this information must be provided by all parties submitting the bid.
The City reserves the right to waive any irregularities or reject any or all bids as deemed in the best interest of the City, and in the event all bids are rejected, the project may be re-advertised.
