IMPROVEMENTS AT ARBOLES, SUNSET NO. 1, SUNSET NO. 2 , AND SUNSET NO. 3 PUMP STATIONS

The proposed improvements at the pump stations will address the following scope of work:

• Arboles Pump Station (CI 5747)
  • Fire hardening enhancements will include replacing the existing roof with fire-resistant roofing material.
  • Removal of surge tank and installation of two air release valves.
• Sunset #1 Pump Station (CI 5749)
  • Fire hardening enhancements will include replacing the existing roof with fire-resistant roofing material.
  • Removal of surge tank and installation of two air release valves.
• Sunset #2 Pump Station (CI 5750)
  • Fire hardening enhancements will include replacing the existing roof with fire-resistant roofing material.
  • Installation of new canopy
• Sunset #3 Pump Station (CI 5751)
  • Fire hardening enhancements will include replacing the existing roof with fire-resistant roofing material.
  • Installation of new canopy
  • The improvements to the v-ditch on the side of the hill will involve the removal and replacement of the existing v-ditch to address current deficiencies, effectively preventing erosion and water damage.

The City’s Public Works Department manages the City’s water storage and distribution facilities consisting of 11 Calleguas turnouts (connections to the Calleguas Municipal Water District supply), four hydropneumatic pump stations, 16 pump stations, 16 reservoirs, and two booster stations. Many of these sites need certain improvements to address enhanced wildfire resiliency, site drainage, accidental tank overflow containment, pump, and electrical equipment enclosures, fencing, and the addition of emergency generators and disinfection boosting stations.
