Judicial Design Services

The current Court Facilities located on the east side of Volusia County are in need of a comprehensive plan to expand and reduce operational inefficiencies. The County intends to utilize a single design firm to provide analysis, design, and oversight through eventual construction utilizing the CM/GC method. This will be a multi-year agreement, and the County anticipates the issue of multiple task assignments to include space need study, structural analysis, conceptual plans, and ultimately, full design packages.

The 7th Circuit Court system of Volusia comprises of multiple buildings in varying configurations. This will be a challenging assignment to retrofit and expand current facilities on the east side of the County. The Stephen C. Henderson Judicial Center and S. James Foxman Justice Center are both in need of major design and construction efforts to meet the demand of the Court system. This project will seek to identify efficiencies to address security, space, and technological requirements. Both facilities are unique and will require a holistic and novel approach to produce a design that will keep construction costs low while minimally interfering with ongoing Court operations.
