PMC services for Design-Build Project for HC9R/QM9R Installation of Fixed Fire Suppression System at the Hugh L. Carey and Queens Midtown Tunnels
Description:

Description of Goods or Services to Be Bid. The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (“MTA”), acting by and through MTA Construction & Development (“MTA C&D”), seeks through this Request for Proposals (“RFP”) to retain the services of a Project Management Consultant (the “Consultant”) to assist in administering, overseeing, and completing on time and within budget the HC9R/QM9R Installation of Fixed Fire Suppression System at the Hugh L. Carey (“HCT”) and Queens Midtown Tunnels (“QMT”) Project (the “Project”).

The Project consists of installing a fixed fire suppression system (“FFSS”) inside both the HCT and the QMT, along with performing structural repairs to the exhaust air ducts in both tunnels. At HCT, a FFSS prototype system including FFSS buildings, new water supply and electrical feeds, and the in-tunnel piping and valves between stations 18+80 to 46+50, of both the east and west tubes, was installed under previous Contract No. HC-07. The HCT FFSS shall be extended for the full length of the tunnel and fully integrated with the existing system. At the QMT, there is no existing FFSS, and a completely new system must be installed.

The Contract will be 100% Capital funding.
