Purchase and Delivery of Red Dot Sights, Mount Plates, and Optic Compatible Sights

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) is soliciting bids for the purchase and delivery of red dot sights, mount plates, and optic compatible sights, as specified in this IFB. The Division of Law Enforcement (DLE) is transitioning to the use of pistol mounted red dot sights on issued pistols as advocated by NYS Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS). The use of red dot sights on pistols significantly increases speed and accuracy, allows officers to make better informed decisions, and is far more effective in low light situations. DLE members that have been issued red dot sights for testing and evaluation have exhibited significant increases in qualification scores.
