Well and Booster Gearhead New, Rebuilt and Parts

Tucson Water is seeking qualified vendors to provide replacement parts, rebuilding services, and new replacement gearheads for water production wells and booster station pumping equipment. The intent of this solicitation is to establish a contract with a vendor capable of supporting the City's critical water infrastructure through the timely supply of parts, professional rebuild services, and replacement gearhead assemblies.

The selected contractor will provide as-needed support for a diverse inventory of gearheads from multiple manufacturers installed throughout Tucson Water facilities. Services will help maintain the reliability and operational readiness of well and booster station pumping systems that are essential to delivering water to Tucson Water customers. Vendors with demonstrated experience in municipal water systems, vertical turbine pump applications, and gearhead repair and replacement are encouraged to submit proposals.

Tucson Water operates numerous groundwater production wells and booster stations throughout its service area that utilize gearheads driven by both natural gas engines and electric motors. These facilities are critical components of the City's water production and distribution system, making equipment reliability and timely repairs essential to maintaining uninterrupted water service and meeting customer demand.

The gearhead inventory consists of multiple manufacturers, models, and vintages, many of which have been in service for decades. As equipment ages, replacement parts become more difficult to source and repair requirements can vary significantly between units. Tucson Water requires a qualified contractor capable of supplying replacement parts, performing comprehensive gearhead rebuilds, and providing new replacement units that are compatible with both natural gas engine-driven and electric motor-driven pumping systems.

The successful contractor will demonstrate expertise with municipal water well pumping equipment, access to OEM or equivalent replacement parts, and the ability to provide timely evaluations and turnaround of repairs. Particular value will be placed on the contractor's ability to minimize equipment downtime, extend asset life, and provide cost-effective recommendations for repair versus replacement to support Tucson Water's long-term infrastructure reliability goals.
